Dennis Hershberger was born and raised in Harvey County. He spent five years in service work and manufacturing and graduated from Hesston College in 1974 with a degree in liberal arts. Mr. Hershberger received a nursing degree in 1984 and spent 30 years in the nursing field. He also worked six years in transportation before retiring in 2021.
Mr. Hershberger is active in community church leadership. His past civic duties include leadership in 4-H and chairmanship of the Reno County Republican Central Committee. He and his wife, Carol, have been married for 42 years and live near Hutchinson. They have four children and four grandchildren. Their four children attended public and private schools, along with being homeschooled.
