The 2024 School Bus Safety Poster Contest, co-sponsored by the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) School Bus Safety Unit and the Kansas State Pupil Transportation Association, is now open for any Kansas student.

The Kansas Multi-Tier System of Supports (MTSS) and Alignment is offering Playful Learning Across the Day in Pre-K, a professional development opportunity.

School districts are invited to participate in an informational session about hosting a Visiting International Teacher (VIT) in the 2024-2025 school year. The webinar will be held from 12-1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 2. The webinar will be recorded and posted on the Visiting International Teacher webpage afterwards. The Kansans Can Star Recognition Program is now in its fifth year of recognizing school districts for the great work taking place to help the state achieve its vision of leading the world in the success of each student.

The path to leading the world in the success of each student starts in early childhood, long before a 5-year-old child begins kindergarten. Join the Kansas State Department of Education from 1-2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 8, to discuss the 2024-2025 Kansans Can Star Recognition Program for Kindergarten Readiness. KSDE staff will review the 2024-2025 Kindergarten Readiness Rubric, which has been updated to simplify the self-assessment process.

KSDE’s Information Technology (IT) team put together a team of experts to help school technology directors and staff members, along with superintendents, principals and others who are interested, navigate the complex and critical practices of cybersecurity and data privacy.

The Spring Tobacco Treatment Specialist Training Program will be offered online between Feb. 12-April 12.

The Kansas Digital Learning Conference is scheduled for Feb. 15-16 at the Andover eCademy, 1411 N. Main in Andover.
