The next Kansas curriculum leaders meeting will be on Jan. 30, at the Bishop Professional Development Center in Topeka.
When the curriculum leaders met on Nov. 15, Caitlyn Sharp of The New Teacher Project (TNTP) discussed the coordination of work they are developing with the Kansas State Department of Education. Her presentation included highlights of TNTP’s newly released report, The Opportunity Makers.
Kansas Commissioner of Education Dr. Randy Watson also spoke about the development of a plan to start paying for students' first 15 hours of college credit. Further details are expected in the coming months. Program managers discussed the work they are doing on creating tool kits and collaborating with the education service centers across the state.

Great Ideas in Education conference dates change
Curriculum leaders were reminded of the date change of the Great Ideas in Education conference dates for the next three years, all at the Hyatt Regency, in Wichita, are the following:
The curriculum leaders’ meetings and the Great Ideas in Education conferences are designed to provide curriculum leaders with the most current information and professional learning. There also will be time during these events to meet with your district leadership team (DLT) and other curriculum leaders to hold those vital conversations.
