The deadline to finalize all Kindergarten Readiness Snapshot (ASQ) data for the 2024-25 school year is Friday, Sept. 27.
To advance kindergarten readiness, all Kansas elementary schools are required to partner with families to better understand incoming kindergarten students’ development. Schools should have administered both the Ages & Stages Questionnaires®, Third Edition (ASQ-3) and the Ages & Stages Questionnaires®: Social-Emotional, Second Edition (ASQ:SE-2) to all incoming kindergarten students by Sept. 20.
All data must be entered in ASQ Online by Friday, Sept. 27.
View the “Finalizing Screening Data” tip sheet for instructions on how to ensure your data is finalized for the year.
Each year, KSDE pulls data from the ASQ Online system following the submission deadline. This data is then matched to ENRL (Sept. 20) records submitted by schools. Schools can take the following steps to improve the accuracy of their data:
Once data is finalized in the ASQ Online system, it is submitted for the year — schools do not have an additional data upload. Participation rate data will be available in the Kindergarten Readiness Snapshot authenticated application later this year.
The 30-minute "Using ASQ Online reports to analyze data" Online Support Module provides training on the various ASQ Online reporting options and describes how to analyze and interpret data. The "Screening Status Summary" report may be a useful one to double-check that all data is entered into ASQ Online; each kindergartener should have both an ASQ-3 and an ASQ:SE-2 for the timeframe March 1 - Sept. 20, 2024. KSDE pulls the following reports from the ASQ Online system:
The Kindergarten Readiness Snapshot is an important piece of our state’s overall strategy to support each child’s social, emotional, and academic readiness for kindergarten. Engaging with the family of each and every student who is embarking on their kindergarten journey in your schools this year is a major undertaking – thank you for your hard work to be kindergarten ready this school year. Beyond finalizing data (due this week on Friday, Sept. 27), these two articles include helpful resources:
