Reminder: 2024 Counting KIDS workshop registration open

Registration is open for the annual Counting KIDS workshops led by Laurel Murdie, KSDE director of fiscal auditing.

Make plans to attend one of the in-person sessions conducted at 11 locations – including two new host sites – to learn more about counting kids on the official count day, Sept. 20, and the information needed to enter for funding purposes. Also, KSDE Information Technology staff will discuss transitioning from the KIDS data system to the Kansas Education Data System (KEDS).

Click here for the workshop schedule. The sessions last approximately three hours and are not recorded. However, all workshop materials will be available on the KSDE Fiscal Auditing webpage at a later time. There is no cost to attend, however, due to limited seating, registration may close at some locations.

Registration is required by clicking this link: https://learning.ksde.org/. For those who already have a KSDE training portal account, select KIDS at the top of the webpage; select Counting KIDS from the drop-down menu, select Counting KIDS Workshops 2024-25 and sign up for the session you want to attend.

*First-time users of the KSDE training portal must select the “Request an account” icon at the bottom of the portal homepage. Once your account has been approved, follow the steps as outlined above for those who already have an account.
