Information on Visiting International Teacher call, letter of intent

School districts interested in hosting a Visiting International Teacher (VIT) in the 2023-2024 school year must complete the letter of intent available at: https://www.ksde.org/Agency/Division-of-Learning-Services/Career-Standards-and-Assessment-Services/Content-Area-M-Z/World-Languages/Visiting-International-Teachers.

The letter of intent is due by Feb. 28, 2023, to Jessica Dorsey, jdorsey@ksde.org.

A recording from an earlier VIT informational call is available at https://ksde.zoom.us/rec/share/UCu3cTGafhOiIfMUY4fM4VufJCXUvMxH01nSjXxlxy4UohzkxmeeqqLPClY0beTL.XFQgeLVRpn0byCMi

VITs are experienced teachers, all from Spain, who live and work in Kansas for up to five years as part of a cultural exchange. They teach a variety of subjects ranging from elementary education to high school chemistry and participate in cross-cultural activities in their schools and communities. When they return to their home school after the exchange, they share their experiences and increased knowledge of the United States and the U.S. educational system.

In the 2022-2023 school year, there are eight new VITs and 12 returning VITs.
