Two recorded webinars and accompanying resources from Dr. Suzanne Adolf, a dyslexia and language disorder researcher, are available on the Professional Learning section of the KSDE Early Literacy/ Dyslexia page.
Webinars include “The Language Basis of Literacy: Word Reading, Comprehension and Writing” and “Measuring and Supporting Language Skills to Increase Reading and Writing Aptitude.”
These webinars can facilitate collaborative conversations between administrators, pre-K-12 teachers, reading specialists, speech-language pathologists and school psychologists as everyone works together to support students who present "at risk" for reading difficulty.
For more information, contact Dr. Laurie Curtis, early literacy/dyslexia program manager for the Kansas State Department of Education, at lcurtis@ksde.org.
