Science professional development will take place Feb. 20 in six regions across Kansas.
This is the third quarterly science professional development session. The other two sessions took place in September and November 2022. The third quarter session is Investigating Routines and Rigor for Science.
During this regional professional learning session, Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) Teacher Leaders will introduce participants to an investigation routine from the standards framework and walk through how it can help to determine appropriate rigor for students.
The morning portion will provide a scaffold for this approach, and the afternoon will provide support for implementation in specific classrooms with collaboration from those in attendance.
Investigating Routines and Rigor for Students will take place from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Feb. 20 across six different regions.
For more information, contact Meg Richard, KSDE’s K-12 STEM (science) education program manager, by email at mrichard@ksde.org.
