Timeline for submitting KESA documents

The timeline for submitting Kansas Education Systems Accreditation (KESA) documents is as follows:

  • For year five systems: System year five summaries are to be completed 30 days before on-site visits. The last day to have an Outside Visitation Team (OVT) visit is March 31. If you haven’t let the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) Accreditation and Design (AD) team know of your visit date, email accreditation@ksde.org at your earliest convenience. OVT year five reports are then due within 30 days of the on-site visit.
  • As Accreditation Review Council (ARC) members begin their review process for 179 systems, all materials must be submitted on time so that KSDE can stay on track for making all recommendations by the July 2023 Kansas State Board of Education meeting.
  • For year one through year four systems: System yearly summaries are to be completed 30 days before on-site visits. The last day to have a visit is April 30. The OVT year five report is then due within 30 days of the on-site visit.
