Kindergarten through fifth grade educators in western Kansas are invited to participate in a full day of professional development on Nov. 14 that will help strengthen their literacy instruction block.
The session is provided by the KSDE early literacy/dyslexia program team and facilitated by Hailey Hawkinson, a KSDE teacher leader consultant.
Participants are encouraged to bring their core and supplemental literacy curriculum with them to the session to make sure it is closely aligned to structured literacy elements – and if not, to identify what is needed to best meet the needs of students.
The cost to attend is $25, which includes lunch.
The professional learning will be from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14, at Scott County USD 466 Board of Education Room, 704 S. College St. in Scott City.
