The Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) would like to remind districts that the Dropout Graduation Summary Report (DGSR) will close Monday, Oct. 31.
As of Monday, Oct. 17, only 25 schools had submitted their DGSR data, according to Dr. Robyn Kelso, an education program consultant on the Career, Standards and Assessment Services (CSAS) team.
Oct. 31 is a hard deadline, so time is running short if districts haven’t evaluated data for accuracy.
Here is some additional information to help in the process:
Who needs to log in and sign off on the data?
Every building in the district (including virtual schools) should have at least one person that logs in to validate the data.
Which grades are used to calculate the data?
Grades 9-12 are used in the graduation calculations. Grades 7-12 are used in dropout calculations.
Do elementary and middle schools need to do this as well?
Yes. All buildings should log in to validate their individual data. Even if the building’s data is not being used in the calculations, the application is still able to provide insight into the student populations.
