The Kansas State Board of Education will receive proposed recommendations from the Kansas Graduation Requirements Task Force, act on the proposed amendment from KSHSAA to K.S.A 2014 Supp. 72-7114 and honor the 2021 Milken Educator Award Recipients.
Board members will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, and 9 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, in the Board Room, Suite 102, of the Landon State Office Building.
Kansas Commissioner of Education Dr. Randy Watson will kick off the meeting with his Commissioner's Report. Board members in the morning will recognize Wellsville High School’s 2022 Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) National Champions and act on ESSER II change requests and ESSER III expenditure plans.
Tuesday afternoon, State Board members are scheduled to receive a presentation on the discovery of the Free State Legislature lithograph, act on accreditation recommendations for four systems and hear a proposal on the Kansas Purple Star designation to recognize military-friendly schools. Board members will end the day with an update from the Teacher Vacancy and Supply Committee and Professional Standards Board Substitute Teacher Workgroup.
Wednesday's agenda includes recognition of the 2021 Milken Educators, a presentation on Sunflower Summer 2022 and acting on the proposed amendment from KSHSAA.
Wednesday's meeting is slated to end at Noon.
