Attendance is a local control decision and how that data is coded is up to individual districts and buildings. Best practices would indicate having a consistent attendance policy across buildings within districts leads to more accurate data.
The window to submit chronic absentee data is now open until June 30 and is submitted on the End of Year Assessment (EOYA) record. However, chronic absentee data is not final until all EOYA records have been submitted.
Please note data can be corrected while this window is open. Check your data carefully for any corrections that might be needed during this window. If a correction is made, the data will roll over overnight and can be checked to make sure the correction was made.
Once the data is uploaded, districts can log into the Academic Measures of Student Success (AMOSS) system and run the chronic absentee report and evaluate the data uploaded, which is encouraged.
