Reminder: Kansans Can and I Am information for videos

There’s still time for graduating Kansas seniors to participate in the “Kansans Can, and I Am” social media campaign. The Kansas State Department of Education needs your help to promote these accomplished students through your district’s social media channels and tagging KSDE in your posts beginning May 1.

Please recruit your seniors to record a short video of their plans for life after graduation. We’re looking to represent all seniors, whether they are entering the workforce, joining the military, graduating with a certificate or attending a two-year or four-year college.

The videos should follow these guidelines:

  • No more than 15-20 seconds in length.
  • If possible, print in color the 2024 #KansansCanandIAm graphic page and have the student hold this in front of them while they’re recording their video.
  • The student should include their name, high school and postsecondary plans (two-year or four-year college, trade school, military, workforce, or certification).
  • The student should say, “Kansans Can, and I Am,” at the end of the video.
  • Schools either can create the videos themselves or have students create their own videos and submit them for review and to be posted on your school or district’s social media sites.
  • Include the #KansansCanandIAm with each post and tag @ksdehq so we can share your tweets and Facebook posts throughout the month of May.
  • Make sure these students and their parents are okay with the video being displayed publicly through KSDE’s social media sites.
