The Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) is offering a professional development event that addresses a balanced assessment system and structured literacy.
The PD opportunity is called “CLUES: What Do We Do With All of This Data?” It will be held at various dates throughout January and February at service centers across the state.
The event will provide building and/or district teams of three or more with structures and processes to discuss data and design action steps to improve student outcomes. It is designed for teachers and leaders of all grade levels. Discussion of the day will focus heavily on English language arts and reading data. However, many of the processes can be transferred to other content areas.
The PD will be led by Casey Peine, a KSDE teacher leader consultant who also is director of teaching and learning for Clearwater Unified School District 264.
Each PD opportunity will be from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and costs $35, which includes lunch.
