Join the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) and Andover Unified School District 385 for an Elementary Science Summit centered around the best thematic units.
The event will be from 9 a.m. to noon on Jan. 3 at the Andover eCademy, 1411 N. Main St., in Andover. There is a $25 fee that must be paid in advance. Breakfast is included in the cost.
During the summit, participants will examine best practices for elementary science instruction, as well as take a deep dive into how to best match up science standards with well-loved units.
All teachers will start together for a quick refresher on the standards and then participants will pick the grade level that best fits their needs.
Thematic units are not required, and participants are encouraged to bring their current curriculum and materials to engage in conversations about best practices and adaptation for optimal alignment.
