13: Registration closes for the Kanas State Department of Education’s Great Ideas in Education Conference: Empowered Together, which will take place Oct. 25-27 at the Hyatt Regency Wichita, 400 W. Waterman St. Registration fees: One day (any individual day) - $175. You will need to indicate which day you plan to attend; full conference - (two and one-half days) - $275. Register now. 13: 8 a.m.-3:15 p.m. KSDE Child Nutrition and Wellness regional farm tour, Northwest Kansas. Begins and ends in Hoxie. 8 a.m.-3:15 p.m. Oct. 13. The tour will include a wheat/sorghum producer (Grainfield), 4B Farms (Grinnell) and M Arrow Ranch (Colby). A local lunch will be provided by Colby USD 315. 17: 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., 71st annual Fall Conference for School Counselors featuring award-winning educator Brandi Heather. Emporia State University’s Memorial Union. Registration fees, which include luncheon and breaks, are $95 before Oct. 17; $110 between Oct. 17 and Nov. 3; and $95 for late or on-site registration (doesn’t include luncheon). The luncheon fee only is $22. A parking permit is required to park on campus and is included in the registration fees. Register here.
