The Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) is sponsoring an upcoming panel discussion and a fall Star regional training.
The panel discussion – “Using Screening Data to Plan Reading Instruction” – will take place from 4-5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20. Participants can join a live panel discussion featuring panelists from KSDE, Renaissance and the Kansas Technical Assistance System Network (TASN).
Topics include understanding student data; the types of FastBridge reading assessments; and the purpose of screening.

On Wednesday, Oct. 4, there will be a morning and afternoon session for the fall Star regional training. Both options will be three hours and take place at Independence High School, 1301 N. 10th St. in Independence.
This training is for teachers of all levels who use Star Assessments. The morning session will be from 8-11 a.m. The afternoon session will be from noon to 3 p.m.
Training sessions will focus on utilizing key Star Assessment reports and features, including the Nearpod connection, to drive instruction, intervention and enrichment.
