Back by popular demand, the Fresh Look at Phonics text-based professional learning opportunity will start at 5 p.m. Sept. 20.
The book study was offered during the 2022-2023 school year and was enjoyed by numerous educators across the state, so the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) is offering it again for those who weren’t able to participate.
It is a great study to do together with teachers in your building or just by yourself with new professional colleagues via Zoom.
The study is based on the Wiley Blevins’ book “A Fresh Look at Phonics: Common Causes of Failure and Seven Ingredients for Success.”
While there is no cost for the study, participants will need to provide their own copy of the book.
The professional development opportunity will be offered via Zoom from 5-6 p.m. Wednesdays starting on Sept. 20. It will last for six weeks, with the final date of October 25.
Those who attend the entire hour session will be provided a certificate of attendance for each week. There is no university credit offered for this study.
