Kansas has appropriated $1 million for professional development to Kansas educators to support computer science program delivery and/or program expansion to meet critical technical workforce development needs.
The funding is provided through House Bill 2466, also known as the Promoting Advancement in Computing Knowledge (PACK) Act. Funds are distributed through a competitive grant process and must be expended by June 30, 2024.
The Computer Science content page at KSDE has been updated with the application packet.
Base requirements for the grant haven’t significantly changed from the previous year. However, there are some enhanced expectations regarding invoicing and expenditures. Please see the grant application packet for more information.
Applications and/or questions related to the grant may be emailed to Stephen King, an education program consultant on the Kansas State Department of Education’s Career, Standards and Assessment Services team, at sking@ksde.org.
