6: 9-11 a.m., Picture Perfect Science, for kindergarten through second-grade teachers. Learn from award-winning NSTA Press authors Karen Ansberry and Emily Morgan. This introductory workshop, held via Zoom, will help educators build a solid understanding of STEM and literacy integration and the 5E Model through participation in engaging picture book-inspired lessons, lively discussion and interactive learning tasks. This KSDE-sponsored professional development opportunity explains what Star Reading is, why it should be administered and how to leverage as a universal screener. This KSDE-sponsored professional development opportunity will teach participants about universal screening with FastTrack Reading and Math at your grade level. 12-13: 9 a.m.-noon, KSDE and Phenomenon Elementary Science Education virtual training. There will be about two hours of additional asynchronous engagement before, during and after training. Applicants will be asked to commit to engaging during this time. College credit is optional, and certificates of professional learning will be provided. There is no cost to participants.
