The Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) announced that 261 Kansas high school seniors – the highest number ever - have been named 2023 Kansas Career and Technical Education (CTE) Scholars.
The announcement was made during the Kansas State Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, April 11.
The Kansas CTE Scholar program is an opportunity to recognize well-rounded, outstanding CTE students who are finishing their senior year of high school. The first Kansas CTE Scholars were named in 2017.
To be named a CTE Scholar, a student must be a high school senior and meet the following criteria:
Scholars receive a commemorative pin, special certificate, graduation honor cord and statewide recognition.

Buhler USD 313, Buhler High School
Colby USD 315, Colby High School
Wamego USD 320, Wamego High School
Wellington USD 353, Wellington High School
Newton USD 373, Newton High School
Manhattan-Ogden USD 383, Manhattan High School
Russell USD 407, Russell High School
Skyline USD 438, Skyline High School
Garden City USD 457, Garden City High School
Liberal USD 480, Liberal High School
Labette County USD 506, Labette County High School
Olathe USD 233, Olathe East High School
Olathe USD 233, Kansas School for the Deaf/OATC
Olathe USD 233, Mill Creek/OATC
