KSDE offers updates, reminders for fall 2022 WorkKeys

The Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) continues to update district test coordinators for WorkKeys.

If a district hasn’t notified Lee Jones, KSDE’s assessment coordinator, about changes, please do so as soon as possible. District test coordinators (DTCs) should check in “manage contacts” that the correct person is in the building test coordinator (BTC) role and makes changes as needed.

DTCs and BTCs should become familiar with the ACT Kansas website: https://www.act.org/content/act/en/products-and-services/state-and-district-solutions/kansas.html

Pay particular attention to the Schedule of Events under the WorkKeys tab and the step-by-step guide, including instructions and tutorials to guide you through the set-up process.

To be prepared for WorkKeys fall 2022 testing, the following needs to be completed by BTCs by Aug. 26.

  1. Select paper test dates or select “not applicable, online testing” from the drop down.

  2. For paper testing, submit the Student Data Upload (SDU) file to enroll students. See the Student Data Upload File Layout Table noted in the instructions. There has been some confusion about the test code. It is wk for WorkKeys.

  3. Verify enrollment and order accommodations materials for paper testing.

  4. Plan to attend or view the recording for WorkKeys Paper Administration training. Registration links for this training and other upcoming training are in the Schedule of Events.

For online testing, BTCs will receive Validus realm information from ACT/WorkKeys by email on Sept. 21 and can then start the enrollment and set up for WorkKeys online testing. That means it is very important that you have the correct person in PA Next as your BTC.
