KELI hosting conversation on teacher recruitment, retention concerns

The Kansas Educational Leadership Institute (KELI) is hosting a learning opportunity about teacher recruitment and retention.

“Solutions to Your Recruitment and Retention Concerns” is being held in conjunction with the Center for Public School Improvement’s “Solutions to Stakeholder Communication Concerns.”

CPSI’s session features Kristin Magette, assistant executive director for the Kansas Association of School Boards (KASB) and will be from 10-11:30 a.m. Nov. 8 at Bluemont Hall, Room 21, Kansas State University College of Education.

Magette will share the crisis communication essentials that every district leader needs to build trust with stakeholders when it matters most.

KELI’s session will be from 1-3 p.m. in the same location and will focus on a conversation surrounding options for engaging in recruitment and retention solutions. Auburn-Washburn Unified School District 437, Liberal USD 480, Kansas City USD 500, the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) and Educate Kansas will share success stories, answer questions and provide support.

Both events are free.
