The Kansas State Department of Education’s School Bus Safety Unit is offering a five-hour informational workshop for any mechanic performing the Part I Mechanical School/Activity Bus Safety Inspection.
This workshop is designed to provide information to assist mechanics who perform this inspection, which is required by KSDE School Bus Regulations.
Class instructors will be staff members from the Kansas Highway Patrol Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program.
This workshop has been offered in the past. However, the workshop is continually updated, so if you have attended in the past, you may want to consider attending again.
The workshop is for informational purposes only. Lunch isn’t provided, and there is no certification for attendees.
Because of the class size, there won’t be any hands-on training. Currently, the School Bus Safety Unit is requesting a limit of no more than four registrations from each school, contractor or other organization. If the minimum class size isn’t reached by March 3, these constraints will be removed, and KSDE will notify people that room is still available in the workshop.
