Final reminder: Chronic absentee data upload window closes June 30

The window to submit chronic absentee data closes this Sunday, June 30, and is submitted on the End of Year Assessment (EOYA) record. However, chronic absentee data is not final until all EOYA records have been submitted.

Please note: Data can be corrected up until the window closes on Sunday. Check your data carefully for any corrections that might be needed during this window. If a correction is made, the data will roll over overnight and can be checked that the correction went through. Making sure you submit accurate data helps drive an accurate chronic absentee rate for the state.

Finally, once the data is uploaded, districts are encouraged to log into AMOSS and run the Chronic Absentee Report and evaluate the data uploaded.

The following are some reminders about chronic absentee data uploads:

  • Attendance is a local control decision.
  • How that data is coded is up to individual districts and buildings.
  • Best practice would indicate having a consistent attendance policy across buildings within districts leads to more accurate data.
