9-10: Kansas State Board of Education meeting, Topeka. 

9-11: School bus transportation directors workshops will be held each of the following days from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., July 9, in Dodge City; July 10, in Maize; and July 11, in Kansas City. Register here: https://events.ksde.org/sf/TransportationBasics.aspx   Note: This course is highly recommended for any new transportation director or existing director who would like a refresher. 

17: School Bus Reasonable Suspicion Training for CDL supervisors at the Kansas Association of School Boards (KASB), in Topeka; Register here: https://events.ksde.org/sf/AlcoholandDrugTraining.aspx Note: This is mandated training for anyone who supervises CDL holders. This is free training and the KSDE School Bus Safety Unit offers it once a year.

24-26: Dole Institute of Politics is hosting the 2024 Civic Engagement and Election conference for Kansas teachers.

25: Deadline to register for HirePaths virtual professional development Zoom on Aug. 1; for pre-K through 8th grade educators to learn how to incorporate career exploration for younger students in the classroom. 25: Deadline to apply for $932 million in competitive grant funding under the EPA’s 2024 Clean Heavy-Duty Vehicles Grants Program Notice of Funding Opportunity. Click here for more information: https://www.epa.gov/clean-heavy-duty-vehicles-program/clean-heavy-duty-vehicles-grant-program#EV. All application packages must be submitted electronically to the EPA through Grants.gov no later than Wednesday, July 25, 2024, at 10:59 p.m. (CST) to be considered for funding.

August

1: HirePaths professional development Zoom conference for pre-K through eighth-grade educators to learn how to easily incorporate career exploration for younger students in the classroom, why it benefits kids and more. Keynote speakers will include Kansas Education Commissioner Dr. Randy Watson and other Kansas educators.
