Reminder: KSDE Child Nutrition and Wellness to host School Nutrition Program required trainings on May 21 and June 4

The KSDE Child Nutrition and Wellness (CNW) team will be hosting two required trainings for School Nutrition Program (SNP) sponsors.

Per the Child Nutrition Program Integrity Final Rule, school nutrition program directors, management and/or staff who work on procurement activities must complete procurement training annually. KSDE CNW will be hosting two virtual procurement trainings via Zoom in the upcoming months. The first opportunity will be from 2-3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21. The training will be repeated from 2-3 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30.

Sponsors unable to attend a live virtual session will have the opportunity to take the training on the KSDE Training Portal at a later date. Procurement training must be completed by August 23 and annually thereafter.

The KSDE CNW team will also be hosting SNP Administrative Training from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., on Tuesday, June 4. At least one representative from each sponsor must complete this training.
