Reminder: Summer Food Service Program virtual town hall set for March 21

The Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) Child Nutrition and Wellness (CNW) team is hosting a virtual town hall meeting at 2 p.m. on March 21. The main topic of the town hall will be the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) renewal process for 2024. Information will be provided about changes to the sponsor and site applications and new guidance for summer 2024. Following the town hall, KSDE CNW will host additional SFSP training opportunities. These include the SFSP Administrative Training from 1 to 4 p.m. on March 27. At least one representative from each sponsor who plans to participate in SFSP must complete this training. For any sponsor planning to offer non-congregate meals in summer 2024, an additional required training will be held from 2-3 p.m. on March 28. This training will explain requirements for operating non-congregate meal service sites based on new USDA guidance.
