Save the date: Tobacco Treatment Specialist Training Program begins Feb. 12

The University of Kansas has announced the Spring 2024 Tobacco Treatment Specialist Training Program for Feb. 12-April 12, 2024. 

This course will give providers the motivation, knowledge and skills to become tobacco prevention and treatment advocates at the regional and state level. 

The KU Tobacco Treatment Specialist (KU TTS) program is an online training course that will require about 14-18 hours to complete and concludes with eight hours of synchronous, virtual skills building training. 

The course cost is $1,000 per person. Some scholarships are available for the training with priority given to those who serve in rural areas or in behavioral health settings across Kansas. 

Who should apply? Community health workers, health educators, social workers, respiratory therapists, dental hygienists, substance abuse counselors, RNs/LPNs, physicians and other health and social service professionals.
