PAX Tools Workshop: Strategies to improve cooperation and self-control in children

Mental Health America of the Heartland (MHAH) has partnered with PAXIS Institute and the Kansas Department of Aging and Disability Services to offer free PAX Tools Workshops to parents and caregivers in Kansas.

This presentation will provide parents with simple, proven tools or strategies to help their children ages 2 and up to be more cooperative and emotionally healthy. Parents will learn about ways to improve their child’s behavior. Strategies for disciplining and handling challenging behaviors will be discussed.

The PAX Tools Workshop is a parent and caregiver training that utilizes evidence-based Kernels for use with children in the home or community. These strategies promote the development of self-regulation, reduce conflict and decrease problematic behavior, and improve relationships.

Each participant receives a $25 Amazon gift card. MHAH can provide a stipend to your school district or organization for $150 to present in person. If MHAH presents by Zoom and distributes the PAX Tool Kits after the session, MHAH pays your school district or organization $150. If MHAH presents by Zoom and you distribute the PAX Tool kits after the session (i.e. you can host the Zoom program at a location like a school or church), proctor the session and handle the evaluations, MHAH can pay your school district or organization $250.

MHAH can create a flyer with a registration link, day, time and location that you can use to promote the workshop. MHAH can present this workshop in the evening or daytime.

If you have any questions or need further information or would like to schedule a workshop, please contact Stacy Davis, director of mental health promotion for MHAH at (913) 222-5933 or sdavis@mhah.org
