Great Ideas in Education Conference offers numerous opportunities to get involved

Did you know there are many opportunities to participate in the 2023 KSDE Great Ideas in Education Conference: Empowered Together? 

The event, formerly known as the KSDE Annual Conference, is taking place Oct. 25-27 at the Hyatt Regency in Wichita.  

KSDE is seeking submissions for the student art contest, along with recordings of student performances and conference breakout session proposals. 

The registration deadline is Oct. 13. Click here to register.  

Through professional development and networking opportunities, the conference will help school personnel improve policies and strategies to provide safe learning environments and quality teaching and learning practices for each student.  

Strands for this conference include:  

  • Balanced Assessment System  
  • Early Learning  
  • Elevating Voices in Education  
  • Leadership  
  • Safe and Supportive Schools  
  • Teaching and Learning  
  • Technology and Cybersecurity  

 
Registration fees are $175 for one day (any individual day) or $275 for the full conference (two and one-half days).  

Additional conference opportunities include:  

  • Student art contest. Details and entry form.  
  • Student Performances opportunity – KSDE is looking for recordings of student performances for the conference in October. These recorded performances will be viewed by all attendees during the general sessions at the conference. Performances should be between five and 10 minutes in length. They may be a compilation of multiple performance experiences.  
  • Call for Proposals – To be considered for presenting a 75-minute breakout session in any strand. Proposals are due Monday, May 15.
