Reminder: Remote Learning Report for spring semester due May 25

For 2022-2023, school districts are required to track and report students attending through remote learning. This information is due to KSDE twice a year – once for the fall semester and once for the spring semester. The due date for the spring report is Thursday, May 25, 2023.

The Remote Learning Report for the spring semester must be completed and turned in even if there were no remote learning students during the semester.

If there were no students attending by remote learning during the spring semester, check the box directly underneath the certification and submit the report to auditing@ksde.org or upload to the Auditor File Exchange.

The Remote Learning Report and instructions for submitting it can be found on the KSDE Fiscal Auditing webpage, under the Calculators heading. Fiscal Auditing (ksde.org) The downloadable Excel file contains both fall and spring semester options. The spring section is at the far right of the report. Remember, local board of education approval is needed for students who attend for more than 40 hours through remote learning.

Questions about remote learning? Please see the KSDE guidance called Remote Learning – Limiting It – FAQs 2022-23. The document is located on the Fiscal Auditing webpage under the Audit Guides section.

In addition, details about the attendance/daily meaningful contact requirement and audit requirements related to remote learning can be found in the Enrollment Handbook on pages 29-31.
