For Kansas to reach its vision of leading the world in the success of each student, systemic change is critical. We have to rethink the way we approach education in Kansas.
That’s why you’ll see that the Kansas Education Systems Accreditation (KESA) model is based on districts creating and implementing a continuous process of improvement. The Kansans Can Star Recognition program is designed to support the KESA process by providing a level of recognition that helps districts identify where they want to focus their improvement efforts.
The Kansans Can Star Recognition Program recognizes district success in the outcome measures Kansans told us they value. These outcomes, categorized as either quantitative or qualitative measures, serve as the roadmap for Kansas to reach its vision for education.
District recognition in the following areas will be automatically calculated by the Kansas State Department of Education based on collected district data.
Districts must apply to be recognized in the following areas:
No application necessary.
Deadline to submit applications May 3, 2024.
