Under the recommendation of the Professional Standards Board, the State Board of Education set the requirements for what constitutes a micro-credential in Kansas. Below is some of the documentation that was created or used in the 2015-2018 timeframe when the SBoE definition was set. Micro-credential have potential benefits, especially for personallized learning, and can be used for professional development points with the approval of the local Professional Development Council (PDC). They might also be used for the college credit re-licensure requirement if they are from a regionally-accredited college whose registrar provides the official transcript in semester/quarter hours.
