Lexile and Quantile Measures

Since 2008, Kansas has been working with MetaMetrics, Inc. to provide students with a Lexile measure linked to the Kansas State Assessment in Reading.  The Lexile Framework offers the opportunity for teachers, parents and administrators to speak the same language about reading.

In 2016, not only are Lexile measures available to students but Quantile measures are available as well.  Like The Lexile Framework does for reading, The Quantile Framework for Mathematics provides teachers, parents and administrators insight on the student’s readiness to learn mathematical skills and concepts.

Kansas students receive Lexile® measures for Reading and Quantile® measures for Mathematics on the Kansas State Assessment in grades 3-11. To understand more about these important scores, visit the links below:
