The Mission of Health Science Education
To provide students interested in a career in health care with:
- The ability to make an informed choice as to which health care career to enter.
- The necessary academic coursework and occupational specific skills exposure, thus assuring admission to the Post Secondary institution that will offer the training for their chosen career.
|
This Health Science Education program enhances the ability of all learners to meet academic and industry recognized skill standards through the integration of career and technical and academic teaching and learning, providing the learner with experiences in, and an understanding of, all aspects of the industry they are preparing to enter. The primary goal is for learners to gain an awareness of and provide explorations of health science career-related content. This is accomplished via school and experienced based activities culminating in a specific post-secondary training and/or employment. Collectively, these experiences allow learners to make informed career choices.
| The National Consortium for Health Science and Education is a national partnership of individuals and organizations with a vested interest in health science and technology education. The consortium was organized in 1991 to stimulate creative and innovative leadership for ensuring a well prepared health care workforce. |
